The new law defines a “milestone inspection” as a very specific type of inspection that must be conducted by either a licensed architect or engineer that is authorized to practice in the state of Florida for purposes of attesting to the life, safety, and adequacy of the structural components of the building.
After the tragic event involving the Surfside Condominium building collapsing, Florida legislators rapidly passed a law that alters particular rights and certain duties of condominium associations located throughout the State of Florida. On May 26th, 2022, Governor Ron Desantis signed what was formerly known as “Senate Bill 4D” into law. Inside this new law, there are promotions of several different policies. The main policy has everything to do with preventative maintenance, inspections, and maintaining the association’s reserve funds.
